Warburtons confirmed that it is planning to enter the free-from sector with the launch of a range of gluten-free products.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Warburtons to use its brand-leading baking expertise to bring higher-quality products to a fast-growing food sector, to complement its continued commitment to the established bakery category,” said a spokesperson for the firm told British Baker.

“By providing enhanced choice for people living with gluten intolerance and food allergies in the UK, we aim to grow the free-from sector and generate incremental business opportunities.” The firm said it would be able to provide more information on the range later in the year.
