London bakery Crumbs and Doilies has been flooded with requests after it made a luxury Cornetto birthday cake for Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.

Edwards, who was celebrating her 23rd birthday, took to Twitter to thank the company for the cake, which was themed on the band’s ‘Get Weird’ world tour.

The Choc ‘n’ Caramel Crunch cake took 32 hours to make and the bakery said it could not believe the reaction to the “Perrie” cake, as people phoned to ask for replicas.

The team said: “The phone has been ringing off the hook all day. It seems that everyone wants to try the Choc ‘n’ Caramel Crunch cake."

The British pop group is the new face of Cornetto’s ‘Make A Move’ campaign, set to coincide with the launch of the company’s new chocolate and caramel crunch ice cream.

The bakery said it uses top quality ingredients in all of its cupcakes and cakes and all are baked fresh to order in small batches by the team. Each order is also hand-decorated.
