GroceryAid has announced that Asda’s chief merchandising officer, Andrew Moore, is the new president of its fundraising committee.

Moore said: “I am honoured to be taking on this role on behalf of Asda. GroceryAid does important and fantastic work helping colleagues in our industry and we are proud to continue our relationship with the charity.”

Moore worked at Marks & Spencer (M&S) in roles including director of general merchandise planning, before setting up his own retail consultancy in South Africa. He then joined George clothing for Asda, as chief merchandising officer.

He will take over from Jason Tarry as president of GroceryAid’s fundraising committee in April.

Gillian Barker, Director General of GroceryAid said: “We are delighted that Andrew has joined GroceryAid as our President of Fundraising, and that Asda is continuing its great support of the charity.

“With Andrew on board it gives us a fantastic opportunity to build on our fundraising base and help even more grocery people in need.”

GroceryAid recently announced that patron Mark Price has been made a Lord and named as a trade minister.
