Cake by Fiona Cairns will soon be available to order online, as the firm plan to launch its first online shop at the end of April.

The shop will stock uniquely designed handmade celebration cakes, teatime treats, books and gifts. It will also feature a ‘Cake Club’, which will allow customers to set up regular automatic cake deliveries to friends, family or a workplace.

The edible product range will feature its celebration cakes, its signature rich fruit cake, sponge cakes, biscuits and shortbread. There will also be a range of seasonal designs; these will be exclusive to the online shop.

The launch of the shop has been a natural progression for Fiona Cairns Ltd, said a spokesperson for the cake business, “especially as the trend for online and gift shopping grows”.

“We have received a lot of calls and emails over the last year, asking if we sell our products- especially our fruit cakes- online, so we do know that we have a market. We hope that in time, the online shop will function as a separate arm of the business,” she added.
