Cool evaporator
Alfa Laval’s (Aberdeen) AlfaVap evaporator is said to increase production and run at higher concentrations than many older plate evaporators.
Retro-fitting the plate heat exchangers (PHE) in place of existing evaporator PHEs can help boost capacity by 25%, claims the company. This is enabled due to the semi-welded plate within the evaporator, which has no small holes at the top and incorporates a new channel configuration to increase turbulence. This reduces fouling and improves heat transfer.
The range includes evaporators capable of handling 400 to 22,500 kg/hour of evaporation and the machines’ modular construction means capacity can be increased or decreased just by adding or subtracting plates.
