Asda sells 50p bloomer

The 800g bloomer – which usually retails for £1.09 – is one of 10 products being sold for 50p until Sunday. Other goods include fruit, salad ingredients, own-brand sausages, eggs and butter.

Asda said the offer is designed to help customers "cut the cost of the weekly shop and fight back against inflation".

Food trading director Darren Blackhurst said value was more important than ever to shoppers "with the credit crunch starting to bite and household bills on the rise".

The promotion runs from Friday 27 June to Sunday 29 June.
