A number of bakeries and bakery manufacturers have been listed as finalists in the Food Scotland Awards 2016.

Finalists in the Bakery of the Year category include Breadshare Community Supported Bakery in Edinburgh, Campbell’s Bakery in Crieff, Brownings the Bakers in Kilmarnock, Keptie Bakery in Arbroath, Gretna Bakery in Gretna and Tower Bakery in Perth.

Meanwhile, shortbread and biscuit supplier Dean’s of Huntly in Aberdeenshire, Border Biscuits in Lanark, snowballs teacakes and confectionery supplier Lees of Scotland in Coatbridge and Nairn’s Oatcakes in Edinburgh have all been named as finalists in the Ambient Food Manufacturer of the Year category.

The awards, now in their third year, will take place on 15 August at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Glasgow. The awards are voted for by the Scottish public and aim to shine the spotlight on the best local producers of delicious ingredients, as well as recognise the efforts of Scotland’s cafes and bistros, restaurants, takeaways, gastro pubs and hotel restaurants.
