Dundee-based Discovery Flexibles, the packaging convertor and printer, has developed Print & Form, which allows designs to be printed on to rigid plastic packaging.
Print & Form can use up to nine colours (including white) on one design. Developed by Discovery Flexibles and Cambridgeshire-based Anson, the technology has been 40 years in the making.
The two companies say Print & Form makes it possible to directly print internally and externally on to packs, with the option to apply printed heat-seal film.
The designs can be graphics or photography, and Anson has said it can also help with conceptual ideas and process.
