TrueCommerce has entered into a partnership with Hovis, the milling and bakery business, to provide it with a secure electronic ordering system.

The OneTime electronic data interchange (EDI) platform was rolled out at the end of last year for an undisclosed amount to replace several systems Hovis had been previously running concurrently. Hovis said the move to a single platform would reduce maintenance costs and the new EDI would allow it to connect with new customers more quickly.

The deal will see TrueCommerce maintain and run the service for Hovis. This will include connecting the bakery to new clients and resolving problems and errors.

Dominic Howson, information systems director at Hovis, said: “TrueCommerce’s fully managed EDI service allows us to simplify our EDI footprint and concentrate on what we do best.

“With our previous providers we wouldn’t know there was a problem until our customers told us. The pro-active service delivered by TrueCommerce will ensure that any issues are resolved before they reach our customers.”

TrueCommerce is a brand name that brings three EDI vendors in Europe together: Wesupply, Atlas Products and HighJump B2Bi.
