A man has been arrested following the theft of £12,000 of biscuits from a Burton’s factory.

The theft hit the headlines when a trailer containing the biscuits was stolen from the Torfaen factory in Cwmbran, Wales.

The theft happened on Wednesday17 June, and the trailer was found later that day more than 170 miles away in Warrington.

The exact product has not yet been confirmed, although the factory is known to produce Jammie Dodgers, Wagon Wheels, Mini Maryland Choc Chip Cookies and Cathedral City Baked Bites.

Burton’s said the raid had been an “isolated incident” and that it was working closely with the police.
