French patisserie producer Brioche Pasquier has completed the build of its first UK bakery, in Milton Keynes.

The new factory is ready to recruit staff to fill the new 20,000m2 factory, which began construction in March 2014.

The company said it expected the site to be fully operational by the end of this year.

Eric Jouet, site director, Brioche Pasquier, said: “The completion of the new factory build is an exciting time for Brioche Pasquier, and we can’t wait to get into our new facility. We are working hard to get the factory operational, so are looking to expand our team in order to achieve this.”

The Brioche Pasquier commercial team has been based in Milton Keynes for 12 years and, according to the firm, it now exceeds £36m turnover.  

The site is part of the group’s international growth development plans, which aim to extend the reach and up production of its products such as croissants, pain au chocolat, filled brioche, macaroons, éclairs and tarts.

The company has pinned the UK as being a “key target for growth”, and it currently has 17 production plants throughout France, Spain and California.
