Lyndale abandons its Vite concept
Lyndale Foods has dropped its Maison Blanc Vite format, closing two trial stores in London.
The "French gastronomic" concept was created as an "oasis of food and theatre for food lovers with little time to spare", with most products offered as self-service. A flagship London outlet was launched in November 2005 on Piccadilly W1, with a second in the City in early 2006.
The move leaves Lyndale Foods, which is now undergoing a strategic review, with 13 standard Maison Blanc shops, serving a range of French-style patisserie and sandwiches and snacks.
