Bakery ingredients company Zeelandia held a cupcake decorating session to celebrate National Cupcake Week.

Run with the Hamelin Trust, which supports adults with learning disabilities, the day was run by Adam Davies, bakery technician, who demonstrated how to decorate animal-themed cupcakes for the week, now in its fourth year.

He said: “It was great to see everyone getting involved in the activity and enjoying themselves during National Cupcake Week”.

David Amos, managing director from Zeelandia, said: “Although we offer ingredients nationally to bakeries, it is great to be able to offer hands-on support to a charity that helps to teach practical skills.”

Speaking about the experience, Nicky Evans, fundraising volunteer co-ordinator, said that the support from Zeelandia for the creative experience was great. “We appreciate their donation of cupcake bases and decorations which were used during the session,” she said.

Organised by British Baker, National Cupcake Week ran from 16-22 September and is designed to help promote the popularity of cupcakes in order to help bakery businesses boost their sales.
