Renshaw has teamed up with Fiona Cairns to create a bespoke four-tier cake to celebrate its involvement at this summer’s Coronation Festival.

The team at Fiona Cairns were tasked with producing Will and Kate’s Royal Wedding cake, in 2011, so Renshaw felt they would be the ideal team to work with on the cake.

The Coronation cake features a gilded recreation of the Sovereign’s Orb and intricate Renshaw marzipan and sugarpaste modelling. It also features the flowers of the home nations - English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil and the Irish shamrock.

The cake, which took three days to make, will be displayed at the Festival, which is being held in the grounds of Buckingham Palace from 11–14 July.

Mark Bosworth, marketing director, Renshaw, said: “Being a Royal Warrant grantee for our almond products is something of which the business is extremely proud and we’re honoured to be taking part in the Coronation Festival.

“With over 60 years’ experience supplying the Royal Household, our brand heritage is more important than ever in a significant year for the business that sees us embark on an ambitious global expansion plan.”

Royal Warrants are a mark of recognition to individuals or companies who have supplied goods or services for at least five years to the Households of The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh or The Prince of Wales.

David Wright, managing director, added: “As a business that is expanding internationally, there is no doubt that the Royal Warrant is highly effective in helping communicate the prestige and quality of our products to overseas markets.

“We will be participating in this year’s historic Coronation Festival, which will attract major global interest and this will help Renshaw to consolidate its position as a leader in the field of craft baking and sugarcraft.”
