16 October, 2013

Bakery and delicatessen café chain Belgique has been put up for sale.

According to M&C Report, the chain has been placed on the market “for an undisclosed sum”, and Davis Coffer Lyons is reported to be marketing the company.

The brand, launched by husband and wife, Igor and Ann Bekaert, is formed of 10 leaseholds in London in areas such as Woodford Green, Bishop Stortford, Loughton and Epping to name a few.

Speaking to British Baker, Igor Bekaert, proprietor, said: "I can confirm that the Belgique chain has confidentially been put up for sale as a whole or individual sites."

Belgique offers artisan bread, baguettes and pastries, as well as coffee and tea. The brand also offers personalised celebration cakes from its kitchens in Wanstead, East London, by its team of patisserie chefs.
